West WindSunday - 10th MayMeridian Wind FarmWe are absolutely stoked to be able to bring you a unique piece of running in New Zealand, maybe even the world. The great folks at Meridian have allowed us access to over 25km of trails up amongst one of the most advanced wind farms in the world. -
The Woolshed RunSunday - 24th MayBelmont Regional ParkA classic Barefoot XTRAIL course with a great old Woolshed by the Venue HQ. The courses take you through pine and native forest, plus a fair amount of open well formed tracks. It’s a solid run, with a bit of climbing, but worthwhile for the views. -
Starlight Run - WainuiSaturday - 6th JuneWainui Trail ParkImagine picking your way through bush-clad trails with hundreds of other bobbing head torches, all under a starlit sky. -
Red RocksSunday - 21st JuneOwhiro Bay Visitor CentreSo you thought you knew our Coastlines? Get up close and personal with Cook Straight. From the spectacular ridge top views to the rugged Coastal Track this is a day you will not forget. -
Battle at Boulder Hill5th JulyBoulder HIllSet in the Belmont Regional Park, the courses take you through a mix of lush native bush, open ridgelines, and rolling farmland with epic views across the Wellington harbour, Hutt Valley, and out to the coast.

Rangituhi RumblerColonial KnobStarting from Spicers Botanical Park, both courses wind their way up through the peaceful, green trails of Spicers Forest before breaking into the rugged beauty of the Colonial Knob Reserve. -
Skyline ScrambleSkylineBoth courses begin in the lush surroundings of Otari-Wilton’s Bush, New Zealand’s only native botanic garden, and wind their way up to the summit of Johnston Hill. -
McKerrows RevengeWainuiomataMcKerrow’s Revenge shows you how close Wellington is to tracks you never knew existed. You can run on high-quality trails with mix of bush, river valley and open areas or add in a solid climb up to the very best native bush. -
The Orongorongo'sRemutaka Forest ParkThis DOC area is absolutely pristine, with incredible native bush tracks and fantastic ridgeline views back across Wellington harbour. -
Towai TraverseWainuiomata Trail ParkBarefoot XTRAIL's newest addition takes us to the incredible Wainuomata Mountain Bike park for our first day run based here. Surrounded in lush bush, high peaks and stunning views you will enjoy fantastic running underfoot through some of Wellington’s best bush. -
Starlight MakaraMakara Peak MTB ParkThere’s nothing quite like trail running in the dark! Makara Peak has a fantastic network of trails with great under foot conditions and high quality trails making it an ideal location for Barefoot XTRAIL night running. -
Mad MakaraMakara Peak MTB ParkFind out why Makara Mountain Bike park is the jewel in Wellington’s inner city crown - runners only, just for one day! These tracks are all open and well formed, with a little climbing at the start. -
Awesome AkatarawasWhareroa Farm - KapitiThis course provides a diverse mix of MTB tracks, horse trails, open field running and bush, and gives you magnificent views out over the sea towards Kapiti Island.
